Illinois’ Medical Cannabis Pilot Program has been slowly gaining steam since its inception in November 2015, particularly with last year’s extension of the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act until July 1, 2020, and the addition of post-traumatic stress disorder and terminal illness as qualifying conditions.
Given the success of the pilot program thus far, Fox associate Michael Neville in Chicago has produced a comprehensive how-to guide explaining how individuals can obtain an Illinois medical cannabis card. The 6-page step-by-step guide covers application costs, age and residency requirements, considerations for obtaining certification from a physician, and other actions necessary for success. For additional reading, in October, the Sun-Times extensively quoted Michael in a piece on the state of the program.
